Z-Wave Long Range in the UK?

After spending over an hour trying to get my new “long range” Zooz ZEN52 working with Home Assistant. It turns out - it does not support long range in the UK.

Read the amazon description when I bought it…

Any other UK users managed to get any long range devices working?

Or is the new tech blocked to us?

These are all the devices that support the EU zwave LR frequency range. In this case EU includes UK :wink: . This list will help to ensure the devices you are considering will meet your requirements.

I purchased the Z-Stick 10 Pro - as aeotec was a brand i’d heard of.

I didnt even think to look if only certain “long range” devices would work in the UK.

I guess I’m future-proof ready then if more get allowed in the UK

There are many more EU LR devices than those listed by the Z-Wave Alliance. Some of the devices on the list are not yet available, but there are many devices from Shelly, Zooz, etc. Some of them need a firmware update for LR functionality.

For long range use you need the 800 series devices. The 700 series is only mesh I.e. not LR. Thank you for the tip on zooz as they have a perfect 800 series 2 dry relay + 2 binary sensor. Perfect for gate. Zen17. Finding devices in UK is hard and so far only using Shelly.
