Z-wave maps/graphs are completely differnt

Z-wave js UI (app) has had a network map for a long time and it’s very useful. Earlier this year, core Z-wave js added a graph feature as well.

The problem is the graphs do not match. The z-wave js (core) doesn’t make any sense. It has devices routed through non-router devices. How’s that possible?

You can see an examples below. The first graph is from the UI app. It shows correct routing through a mains-powered device “ceiling center light”. The second picture is the core z-wave map. It shows multiple devices routed through a battery powered device “Kitchen Motion”.

How’s that possible?

Yeah, my two graphs look completely different, too. I’m running zui 11.22.3 and 2026.8.2

Thanks for pointing this out, as I always use the ZWaveJS’s UI for the topology map and didn’t know the core now has incorporated a map too.

I see this problem as well. The core shows one of my end devices using a battery remote for its connectivity… So seems to me its a bug.

They are completely different software with different implementations.

Consider it a work in progress. Maybe this recent change and future ones will improve it. https://github.com/home-assistant/frontend/pull/53676.

Confirmed. The z-wave map was corrected in version 2026.9.0.
