I have a Z-wave Motion sensor (Neo coolcam) that keeps getting triggered even if there is nobody in that room.
Running on the latest Z-wave Js integration. Everything is up to date. HA version: 2025.4.4
Particulary the binary sensor keeps going on and of every 30 to 60 seconds and its draining my battery.
How can I know whats causing these triggers? I’ve checked the logbook and logs but cant find anything else other than the trigger log.
Config - Devices & Integrations - Zwave - Your Neocam Device - Configure - Parameter 1: Sensitivity
Set it to a higher number.
You need to manually awake the device for settings to apply. Pres the button inside next to the battery once.
But, it does not help always. Neocam is questionable quality. I had 6 of them and used two as a golf ball already, because of strange behavior
A bad copy of the Fibaro Eye, which I have 10 of, and they are flawless
Thanks! already adjusted these settings but the sensor is slacking. Takes 5s to respond and stuff. Still goes on and off without motion.
I have 3 of them for over 5 years. Without issues. And it happened suddenly so maybe the sensor is just broken.
Need a zigbee sensor, Maybe Aqara P1?
Removed the device from my zwave integration. Added new battery. Resetted the sensor and included as a new device. Also changed the automation for motion detection. So far so good. Will let you know in the next couple of days.
Somehow… The sensor are totally different than what i had before. I now have a “motion detected” sensor and every sensor has a different icon now. Going to re-add all my zwave motion sensors.
Set up a camera and either use it’s motion detection or better yet set up frigate to look for objects. Grab snap shots both based on the camera/frigate motion detection and also when your sensor goes off. You could have a mouse or snake kicking the things off.
