Z2M/Ambient Lighting/Hue White Ambience odd behavior changing color temp

A few months ago I migrated my zigbee network from ZHA to Z2M for better ota support and since most of what I’ve read seemed to say it was an overall improvement from ZHA. I have a handful of hue white ambience bulbs and some innr tunable white bulbs as well. I had all of this working with the ambient lighting integration utilizing groups for each lighting fixture with ZHA. Since migrating, I’ve found when making a large change to color temp when turning on the hue bulbs they turn almost green during this 1 sec transition (for example when turning a light on during the day that was last on at night).
I think what’s happening is the warm and cool LEDs are both turning on full momentarily and creating this odd color mix.
I’ve spent quite a while trying to find any info on this and have nothing. I’ve confirmed using dev tools and manually setting color temp and transition time it still shows this behavior so I don’t think this is related to ambient lighting. The only thing I haven’t tried is to see if it behaves the same when targeting an individual bulb and not a group.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This kinda takes the magic out of walking into a room and having lights automagically turn on with appropriate brightness and color temp.
