Z2M and Tuya cover motor TS0601_cover_6

I was having trouble with getting this Tuya Zigbee cover motor working at first. I was using ZHA and it only discovered 2 entities. I switched to Z2M (luckily I have only started playing with Zigbee so I only had to delete 3 devices!).

I have the Aeotec Zi-Stick and had to update the firmware using the Silicon Labs Flasher addon, which worked on my 2nd try. The first firmware I downloaded wasn’t working with Z2M, so I installed the latest one from Aeotec.

The TS0601 cover was discovered immediately and all of capabiities appeared. I was able to control the motor in Devices. However the “Set upper limit” learning took about 50 tries to work. I would simply not respond to the “start”. I finally got it into learning mode by (I think?) setting it to “stop” (motor started to lift the curtain), then another “stop” to set the upper limit.

I’m not sure if I’m doing something incorrectly, or if this is a known issue with this Tuya device.

Apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place as I’m new to HA
