Just starting out with Matter/Thread. My network is tiny at the moment, I’ve got the ZBT-1 as the border router, a Grillplats plug and an Aqara W500 floor heating thermostat.
If I go into the Matter server web interface and look at the Thread Network Mesh it looks like this:
Is it normal that my ZBT-1 isn’t even showing up? If I view the node details for one of the devices on the “map” it looks like this, the border router showing up as “external”?
Any ideas? Is this normal?
Yes. A thread border router is not a matter device.
It will show up in the map if actual matter devices are attached to it, which doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Right, that does make sense. Thank you! Is there somewhere you can see a map like this of the thread network? I haven’t found one so far.
There is “Topology” map in the OTBR addon, but quite useless imho.
I use GitHub - fpb/Thread-Network-Visualizer: Simple Thread Network Visualizer · GitHub which is a tad better
