I'm new to HA, but have gotten a few devices working. I decided to start using Zigbee and everything I found pointed to the ZBT-2 being the best option for starting. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be working as expected:
-
I'm using HAOS installed on a Proxmox VM, and the USB is plugged directly into the server and forwarded to the VM.
-
If I dig around in HA, I can find it but I can't actually do anything with it. It isn't being automatically detected as a device.
-
When I try to install Zigbee Home Automation (which is what I think I need for this), It takes me through a process where I can actually select the ZBT-2, but ultimately asks me to select from a list of adapters (the default being EZSP). After that it says that it can't connect and it's likely some firmware or permissions issue.
-
The only thing I found remotely like this online recommends going to a specific website to updated the firmware:
Install Firmware – Device Toolbox
While this website seems to detect the ZBT-2, when it attempts to update the firmware it tells me "The running firmware could not be detected."
Am I missing something here? As far as I can tell I have all of the hardware I need and it seems to be connected correctly because I can actually find the ZBT-2 on every system I connect it to. It just won't interface.
Edit: It may also be helpful to note that the blue light isn't on when it's connected. If I reset the ZBT-2 it'll flash yellow and then flash blue but then just shuts off. I would have expected it to be blue while connected but I'm not sure.
Thanks!
