I just bought a ZBT-2 for my thread network. However when I plug it in I never see the following (screenshot) to choose between Zigbee and Thread? How can I get to this point to select what I want?
Yes between Matter, Thread and ZBT-2 there are things under Devices and Sevices, Apps and system settings.
That setting is under Settings / System / Hardware and there’s a separate panel for the ZBT-2. Click it and it asks about Zigbee vs Thread use

So if I may come back to you. I installed the ZBT-2 as you suggested as a thread router. I then turned off my Apple TV (which was my thread router) because this is what I wanted to do in the first place. However all my matter devices then disconnected regardless of the ZBT-2 being connected. Any idea how to resolve this?
I should add my existing thread is connected via a SmartThings hub v3
Based on my limited experience, I’ll confess I’m a little fuzzy on that. I wouldn’t think it would matter how a device was commissioned. But having said that I’ve only used the zbt-2 and I’ve already blown my network away once and recommissioned everything.
I’d suggest recommissioning everything on your zbt2 otbr
