ZBT-2 isn't auto-discovered and manual setup fails

I setup a ZWA-2 yesterday with zero issues and was very happy with the process. Today, though, I’m very concerned with the experience trying to setup a ZBT-2. I’ve followed the process as best I could find documented to remove my prior Nortek HUSBZB-1 stick prior to the ZWA-2 setup yesterday and hope that something isn’t lingering causing issues for me today.
I’ve:

  • rebooted the host
  • connected the ZBT-2 to an open USB port
  • waited for ~5 minutes for the ZHA integration to automatically appear – it didn’t
  • I manually added the integration and it sees the ZWA-2 connected but doesn’t see the ZBT-2. I chose the option to manually connect the device.
  • The next screen presented a list of adapters to choose from. The first one in the list is: “EZSP = Silicon Labs EmberZNet protocol: Elelabs, HUSBZB-1, Telegesis” which makes me wonder if my prior usb stick is lingering around somewhere.
  • I stopped here for fear of making a serious mistake as I’m way outside of my comfort zone now

TL;DR: HA isn’t auto-discovering my brand new ZBT-2 antenna, I can’t find documentation of what to do at this point, and I’m lost as to next steps. All help is very much appreciated.

A follow-up:

I had noticed reference to the “web flasher” when searching for my problem here in the community but (wrongly) assumed it was the firmware auto-update that takes place after the antenna is connected to HA. After clearing my head some, I realized that assumption didn’t make sense and found this site. I connected the ZBT-2 to my computer and let that site update the firmware. Then I reconnected the antenna to my HA instance and it was almost immediately auto-discovered! I went through the setup process in HA (which oddly included updating the firmware even further), and now things are working like a champ.

Hopefully this helps anyone else in the future who gets as lost and distracted as I was. I’m a very happy Zigbee user now.

Same issue here. Solution: pressed the usb-c connector tighter (it seemed a little loose).

That sounds obvisous (really :upside_down_face: ), but led was blinking, so nothing pointed to a disconnection.
