We would like to share an update regarding our ZMS-206 and ZMS-208 display switches.
Due to continuous feature improvements and firmware updates, the device identifiers (Device ID / Signature) of these models may change over time. As a result, some users may experience compatibility issues when integrating the devices with ZHA (Zigbee Home Automation) in Home Assistant.
Background
The ZMS-206 and ZMS-208 display switches receive continuous feature and firmware improvements.
As a result, device signatures may vary across different production batches.
In some cases, this may cause:
- Incorrect or incomplete device recognition in ZHA
- Missing or limited entity functions
- Inconsistent behavior across firmware versions
To address this, we have updated our ZHA custom quirk
What’s New
This updated ZHA quirk provides unified support for both ZemiSmart ZMS-206 and ZMS-208 display switches. It improves compatibility with newly introduced device signatures and ensures consistent behavior across different production batches and firmware versions.
Key improvements include:
- Unified compatibility for ZMS-206 and ZMS-208 SKUs
- Enhanced support for new and updated device IDs
Installation (Recommended via GitHub)
You can install the updated quirk directly from our GitHub repository:
