I received this switch through Amazon review program. I quickly found that it doesn’t expose anything in Zigbee2MQTT, despite being listed on the Zemismart website as Home Assistant compatible. Can you please publish a converter? I like the switch and want to review it well.
I vibecoded and submitted a simple converter, but it has settings accessible only in Tuya app. The vendor is better positioned to create a proper converter.
Fine, then since you are using Zigbee2mqtt, you would need to go to that site and ask for help. Asking in the Home Assistant forum about a new device in Z2M will not get too far.
If you were using Z2M you would need to do the same in the Zigpy GitHub repo where such things are built for that.
Home Assistant does not deal with new zigbee devices directly, the coordinator programs do..
I asked because I saw the official vendor account active on this forum.
They are not Z2M either.
I vibe coded a quick and dirty converter and submitted the debug data to Z2M github. I don’t have skills to write a high quality converter.
First of all I need to review this switch. Zemismart web site says this switch is HA compatible, but it is not. I wanted to address it with the manufacturer before mentioning it in my review.
Why though? The manufacturer already created the working converter I linked to earlier. The only bad thing about it is that they don’t seem to have submitted the PR to have it included in Z2M.
What benefit will your vibe coded converter have over the manufacturer’s own? Just ping them in the linked thread & ask them to submit theirs to Z2M so that it’ll be picked up automatically.
You’re right, the linked switch looked different, but the converter worked when I changed the fingerprint to _TZE28C1000000_o409r73p.

We have verified that the converter works with the ZMZ609-2 when the device fingerprint is changed to:
_TZE28C1000000_o409r73p
We will coordinate with the Zigbee2MQTT team to submit the proper device converter for official inclusion. Once it is merged and released, users should be able to pair the ZMZ609-2 directly without installing an external converter manually.
In the meantime, users may use the existing external converter with the fingerprint above as a temporary solution.

@zemismart this is something i was going to look at soonish, but the issue i have been facing with the new label touch smart switches is they spam the network so much it causes the rest of the mesh to degrade. i did try to work with some of the maintainers over in discord but there is only so much they can do.
If your team hooks one up to z2m maybe theres something at the firmware level you can do to help, or its possible you are able to workout what the device is trying to send non stop?
