I have 4 Zen30s on the latest firmware, originally they were set up as two virtual 3-ways, but in the process of debugging I’ve removed the associations. I’ve gone back and forth with Zooz for a few months now and they keep pointing the finger at my zwave network. I’m highly skeptical.
I have 73 nodes, mostly ZWave 800 mesh. A few are LR, including two of the Zen30s which I just switched today as a last ditch attempt to resolve this before e-wasting the things. All of my switches are Zooz 800 series, mostly Zen72s. I have some Smartwings shades, hardwired. Nothing on the network except the Zen30s have issues. It’s a solid mesh. New construction, switches in every room on every floor.
The Zen30s regularly report dead. Most of the time they come back online with 2-3 presses, but sometimes require cutting power. It’s very frustrating. At first I only noticed when they locked up, but in hindsight, my wife and frequently had to press them multiple times to turn things on or off.
I fail to see how this could be my mesh when it’s only the Zen30s that have this issue and when they lock up. I am convinced that either my devices are defective or the product itself or the firmware is problematic.
Zooz has offered to let me send one back for evaluation, but if I’m going to go to the trouble of replacing one I’ll just replace them all. They also suggested I provide my hub logs to the HA team for review (is that even something they’d do here?)
Has anyone else had similar issues with these devices? Even if the LR approach works, I lose group associations and need to mirror through automations to get the 3-way effect. Not ideal
Also, is anyone aware of a similar product if I end up replacing them?
Thanks
