My automations involving time or clock doesn’t work properly due to the system time of my HA instance is two hours in the past.
Example: I’ve an IKEA Parasoll door sensor in my car park. When i open or close the door, the event is registered aproximately 2 hours in the past. (If I close the door at 10:35, the event is registered at ~ 08:40 h). I installed the HA Time & date service, and the tool reports that the system time is near to 2 hours in the past:
When working with time it is important to think timezones into every action.
The timesnin HA is generally stored in UTC time and needs to be converted to local timezone when shown to the user.
Hello Everyone. Thanks a lot for the replies. Time zone is set propperly in the HA server. I’ll check time configuration in the router. The router model is TP-Link TL-MR6400. I’ve to say that the whole system has been working propperly for one year, and this issue appeared suddenly one month ago, without performing changes.
I’ve checked the time configuration in the router, and the current date and time were wrong. The router has tree different options:
-Introduce the current date and time manually.
-Obtain date and time from PC.
-Obtain date and time from internet.
When the last option is selected, the router shows an error message “error obtaining GMT”.
Currently, the system is running with the time / date obtained from PC (system doesn’t has a PC connected during operation), but the time hasn’t updated in HA (event recording is 2 hours in the past). Restarting HA doesn’t solved the problem.
Hello Everyone. After beeing during a whole day triyng to solve the time issue, I’ve placed a time window in my instance main view, and… the time indicated is correct:
After that, I’ve added a new zigbee element, and their behaviour is exactly the same: All events are two hours (aprox) in the past.
I als was wondering if the problem affects only to the zigbee enviroment, provoqued by the SMLIGHT SLZB-06 coordinator, but i checked the behaviour of a wifi Shelly relay, and the behaviour is the same. Events two hours in the past.
I have to say that the SMLIGHT coordinator seems to be unable to get the current time, just like the 4g router. The diference is that in the router, the current time can be obtained from a PC or even forced manually, but the coordinator doesn’t have these options.
As regard the 4g router, two time server can be specified, but i think this is optional. Can somebody reply me with the IP directions of he most common used time servers?
(note that image below is a simulation in the TP-Link web, and doesn’t show the current time)
The picture of your time is of no use to us, since no timezone value is given.
All times given should be suffixed with a timezone value or it will be impossible for us to deduct anything.
Regarding NTP servers, then there are multiple options.
You can use a regional pool address or a specific pool address. https://www.ntppool.org/en/
