ZHA via CC265R and IKEA Tradfri driver + Rodret switch feasible?

Hi everyone!

I’m new to Zigbee, so I don’t know if what I want to achieve even makes sense.

What I would like to do is operate a IKEA Tradfri driver locally with a Rodret switch - regardless of HA running or not.

On top of that I’d like to be able to control the driver from HA. For that purpose, I use an USB connected CC2652R stick.

First I had pairing issues, so I moved the driver closer to the USB stick, which made pairing work. For this, I completely disconnected the driver and moved it to the room where the USB is. When moving back to the desired destination, any action trough HA, like turning the light on/off or dimming, would result in the lights randomly switching on or off or dimming. So I suppose the distance between my USB and the driver is too far to make it work properly?

On top of that, it seems that I’ve lost all functionality when I paired the driver with the Rodret switch again. I reckon that you can only pair with either the Zigbee coordinator or the switch, but not both at the same time?

I have seen other posts about IKEA Zigbee devices, but that didn’t get me anywhere really. Any hints would be highly appreciated

Cheers

Okay, so physically moving the Tradfri driver fixed the issue regarding the erratic switch behavior. But having it re-paired with ZHA, I lost Rodret switch functionality again.

I managed to pair the Rodret switch with ZHA. Now that I can see it in HA, I tried to bind it to the Tradfri driver. That unfortunately doesn’t work. I see an error in the log about binding failed, but also that the devices are bound:

Not sure what to make of this, but the binding didn’t work (or, to be more precise: the Rodret won’t turn on or off the lights).

:man_shrugging:

By the way, shouldn’t I be able to se key events from the Rodret whenever I press one in the ZHA debug log?
