I need some assistance in finding a zigbee button and zigbee relay that play well together and with home assistant.
The zigbee button ideally would use AAA batteries and very easy to press and able to act as a router too
The relay ideally is powered from, and can switch 12v/24vdc
What I am trying to do is: have multipe buttons all paired with the relay and is able to integrate into Homeassistant. I have the smlight zigbee coordinator (SLZB-06).
The most important part is that is that the relay switches when any of the buttons are pressed. E.g. the network should stay up even when home assistant or the coordinator goes down. The area to cover is quite large and the relay is not quite centeral.
If you have any reccomendations please let me know.
Someone else will have to answer about having >1 Zigbee button “bound” to an actuator device (your relay). And maybe someone else knows of a Zigbee relay that just toggles every time you signal it. --or maybe you can have 2-position buttons (like paddle switch) that can be clicked on & clicked off?
Anyway, the one thing I know is that your wish list for battery power plus Zigbee router function is probably not achievable. Zigbee router is generally only available in mains-powered devices, as batteries would get run down too quickly if radio had to be always on. I’m not sure, but it might be part of Zigbee standard, that mains-powered ZB devices must provide router function, but battery devices do not.
