Zigbee Button Automations now fail

Hi

It’s been suggested that I ask for help in this forum.

I have two zigbee button devices, a Sonof SNZB-01M 4 button and one which according to Home Assistant is a eWeLink WB01 single button.

I had these working with different actions triggering depending on which Sonof button was presses, and different actions triggering depending on if the eWeLink button was pressed, long-pressed etc.

Installing the Sonof required adding something to the configuration - somewhere in quirks I think.

I have a Home-Assistant (HA) Green, which, as far as I know, is 100% up-to-date.

After one update to HA, it informed me that some actions were broken. Names for some events had change. I changed them appropriately, and they started working again. After another update, they stopped working again.

Now, I can’t fix them at all. The buttons don’t seem to be displaying any actions I can respond to.

If I try creating a new automation, the Sonoff 4 button just gives me
Battery, Firmware, Identity,
Battery Level Changed
Battery Level crossed threshold

that I can use as triggers.
eWeLink gives me those same ones, except Firmware.

I can’t see any buttons to use as triggers.
I tried removing the quirk settings, but it made no difference.

Googling for this shows that people have been using something that maps Zigbee to MQTT, but I don’t have the first clue how to do that.

Has anyone got any clue of what’s happened, and what I have to do to fix it.
Or, if I’m asking in the wrong place, can you point me to the correct place to ask please?

Many thanks.

First, check this.

If that isn’t the source of your issue, please follow the Community Questions Guidelines by providing a properly formatted configuration from the affected automation, as well as the Trace from the failed run of the automation, and any other pertinent data like which Zigbee integration you use, whether this automation is from a blueprint, any errors in your logs, etc.

Thank you. That was exactly it.

Many thanks for your helpful reply, and also pointing me (a newbie here) to the Question Guidelines.
