I would like to have a detector that detect people only during night to power on 2 light bulb with lower brightness (for WC room + corridor).
I would like to know what you suggest me to buy.
I have home assistant and Zigbee USB 3.0 Dongle +
Well, it depends on how quickly you want the lights to shut off again, and how annoyed you are by false negatives…
For the corridor any cheap motion sensor ought to work fine, as I’d expect people to not really hang around there at night but simply pass through. I use an IKEA Vallhorn in my hallway but most well known brands probably has something cheap that works adequately.
For the toilet though, I find motion sensors to not be ideal as someone doing number 2 may not move around enough for motion to register. Either you’d need a significantly longer timeout before the light turns off again, or you can do what I do and instead use a presence sensor. I have an Aqara FP1E. Another advantage of the presence sensor is that worked through my glass shower wall, which motion sensors typically do not.
Thanks for your answer.
So ideally i would like that the detection is fast in the corridor and light up both corridor and toilette bulb.
It’s for my wife and my todler (4 yrs old).
