Zigbee entities lost but still available in Zigbee2MQTT

Still trying to learn things about Home Assistant…

Saturday I learned that you should not leave a dashboard in editing mode when switching to another page. The dashboard was a time completely empty, luckily I could see the Yaml and with saving that the dashboard came back.

But now I have 3 entities that are still available and usable in Zigbee2MQTT, but are lost in Home-Assistant. These are 2 Osram plugs and a IKEA TRADFRI LED driver

What can I do to restore them?

  • Installation method Home Assistant OS
  • Core 2025.6.3
  • Supervisor 2025.06.2
  • Operating System 15.2
  • Frontend 20250531.4

Lost how? From your dashboard?

Can you still find them if you look under Settings > Devices & Services and filtering by MQTT integration?

Did you maybe rename them in Z2M and checked the box to also update the Home Assistant entity?

Sadly not, they are completely disappeared in HA.

They are not there. I have an external Zigbee2MQTT container and the only entities mentioned here are the Hass-Agents, one IKEA switch and an unnamed device I’ve installed. I suspect that this is the origin of my problem.

I’ve not renamed them, so that is why I could not think of a reason.
And MQTT is/was still working fine, I can still switch devices on and off through MQTT-messages.

This evening I checked the logfiles and they are full with message about the HASS-agents I recently installed.

So I’ll stopped those and will investigate it further.

Thanks for your response.

Since there are only 3, in Zigbee2MQTT, rename them with an underscore added, and then rename them back with underscore. Both times with ‘Update Home Assistant entity ID’ enabled.
