I have my homeassistant split between a container running the bulk of everything but leverage a RaspberryPi and remote homeassistant to pull in Zwave, Zigbee and Bluetooth which the container wouldn’t have access to. Basically the Rpi is a remote sensor hub. Today I switched from legacy zwave to zwave JS and had a pleasant surprise when I found out that I could add the zwave JS integration to my container HA and connect to the add-on running on the Rpi. Normally I’d have to configure zwave devices on the Rpi and use the remote home assistant to pull them into the main container instance, but now with zwave JS I just setup the add-on on the Rpi and all the devices are configured directly through the integration on the primary container instance. Now my question is there a way to do something similar with Zigbee? I’m currently using ZHA and a Nortek USB stick. Looks like deconz might support this but I would need a new zigbee usb radio? or zigbee2mqtt but the setup looks a little more invovled. Just looking to simplify the Rpi as much as possible only being that remote sensor hub with minimal config and easy replacement. Thanks in advance!
Zigbee2mqtt would certainly work, but not with your Nortek Zigbee radio.
