I’m gradually converting my remaining Homematic components to Homematic IP and Zigbee, and I now use Home Assistant for complete control.
One of the remaining components is the control of the 12V alarm siren HM-Sec-SFA-SM. I have permanently installed the siren outside the house, and the control unit is safely housed inside. I’d rather not replace the entire siren; it would be ideal if I could continue using the existing 12V siren and only had to replace the control unit.
The current performance data of the control is as follows:
Operation with 220V input
Rechargeable battery for operation without mains power
Charging and monitoring of the battery and notification in case of failure
Control via radio (Homematic)
Control of the flashing light (12V)
Control of the siren (12V)
Tamper contact of the siren
Of course, I could replicate the whole thing somehow, for example:
Battery power supply for 12V
Two switching actuators for 12V for the siren and lamp
Sensor for the tamper contact
But that would be quite a lot of tinkering, especially with the emergency power supply.
Is there any “complete module” for alarm siren control? Or could I use one of the existing Zigbee sirens and just rewire the alarm light and alarm siren to my outside light/siren? Or? How did you build your outside sirens?
