Hi everyone! I have some philips motion detectors and some temperature sensors connected to home assistant through the USB ConBee II. All of course use the Zigbee protocol. However I would like to add other Zigbee motion detectors in some rooms, unfortunately too far away for the signal to reach the ConBee usb connected to the Raspberry. So I bought this (TRÅDFRI Ripetitore di segnale - IKEA Svizzera) Ikea Zigbee extender.
Now my question is: do I have to connect the Ikea repeater to Home Assistant somehow? Or is it enough to plug it in to be able to extend the Zigbee signal?
Let me explain: once the Ikea repeater is connected to the electric socket, the existing zigbee network is automatically extended so can I connect the Zigbee motion sensors away from the Raspberry without any problems? Or do I first have to integrate the Ikea repeater into the home Assistant in some way? Thank you!!
Looking at the IKEA manual I’d say you have to connect it.
If I understand correctly, you need an IKEA remote or motion sensor to tell the repeater which signal to repeat.

You have to connect them with you conbee stick! It’s working without any problem here!

Add it, and then once you see it in your network map, you can either wait for devices to start using it, or give them a quick reboot and they should start straight away.
