Zigbee Temperature/Humidity Sensor False Low Battery alarm

I have two Zigbee Temperature/Humidity Sensors SNZB-02D (2.3.0) both bought at the same time. However, one of the units keeps reporting that it’s Battery needs replacing? I have replaced the Battery with a new one, it continues to randomly report that the Battery requires replacing. How can I resolve this false alarm?

How long ago did you replace the battery? Some of these sensors can take upwards to a whole day before the battery sensor gets updated.

I my case what works is removing the device from z2mqtt and readding it.

I’ve found that devices powered by those small “button” batteries notoriously inaccurate reporting battery % remaining. They tend to stay at 100% (or whatever % they report when the new battery is installed) for a long time, and also stay at some low, “almost dead” percentage for a long time before the device finally goes off line.

I’ve also learned not to buy the batteries too far in advance of needing them. They seem not to last as long the if they sit unused for a long time.

Assuming the device has some kind of button on it, press it once, briefly.

It’ll cause the device to send a full update (including battery) to your zigbee integration.
