I have three Zigbee Third Reality motion sensors, all of which are the same model. I have successfully added two of them as motion sensors, but the third one adds as a binary sensor. I have removed the device multiple times and re-added it, but the result remains the same. It even updates the firmware to the same version as the other two, but still shows a binary sensor and not a motion sensor.
Does anyone have any ideas for me?
I’m sorry I can’t speak to the Third Reality motion sensor specifically but all of my motion sensors are binary sensors. I have 2 Meross Presence sensors and they are also binary sensors, meaning it is detected or not detected and the HAOS has named them all “binary_sensor.xxxxxx”.
What do your other 2 sensors show up as?
Thanks for your response. When looking at the type of entities of the other two, I see that they are also binary sensors. The difference I discovered is that the entity on the other two “show as” property is set to “Motion”. I changed the other one, and now they look identical.
So Home Assistant just added it differently. They all look alike now.
