ZigBee Wireless Gateway + Existing Tuya Devices

Hi Everyone, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere… the forum is large!

My question is, I have some existing Tuya wifi door sensors. Slow to react as we know due to turning wifi off and on etc.

If I purchase a Zigbee wireless gateway, will the existing devices pair with it and will this sort the latency/connection issue, or do I need to biff these and get different types?

If so, can anyone recommend ones that respond quickly?

Specifically looking for:

  • door/window contact sensors
  • temperature sensors
  • motion PIRs

You’ll need zigbee devices. WiFi devices will not pair with a zigbee coordinator.

As for door/window contacts sensors I use these. They work very well with Z2M (instant status changes) and even the battery state is working :sweat_smile:

As for temperatur/windows sensors I have a couple of SONOFF SNZB-02 Zigbee Temperature and Humidity Sensors. Although the first setup of these can be a bit fiddly once setup correctly they work very reliable.

As for Motion PIRs I am using a few Xiaomi Aqara RTCGQ11LM without hardware hacks. As long as they are getting correctly configured through Z2M they have never let me down when it comes to instant status changes, presence detection and cool-down time. Aquara Hub is not needed.

As for the Coordinator I use a SONOFF Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus (no need for a Tuya Gateway).
