i have followed the instructions to install this add-on, but it keeps failing at the Onboard step. Here is the debug log. What am I doing wrong?
It cant connect to your adaptor.
Share your Z2M config and tell us which adaptor you are using.
I am using a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 dongle on a Dell Optipex computer. Zigbee2MQTT has failed to start and as a result, all my Zigbee devices are now unavailable.
This has likely changed:
You can check in Home Assistant Settings → System → Hardware → All Hardware.
Search the forum for “USB serial by ID”. That method of specifying the port does not change.
The error you’re seeing tells you to go here for troubleshooting steps: Zigbee2MQTT fails to start/crashes runtime | Zigbee2MQTT.
Most likely ZHA is running and blocking communication between Z2M and your coordinator.
I went to Home Assistant hardware and found the following: /dev/serial/by-id/usb-ITead_Sonoff_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_a2c4ddc463fded11a82a0365024206e6-if00-port0
I changed the coordinator parameter to this, but received the same error. What now?
Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated.
Check if ZHA is blocking access as per Zigbee2MQTT Again - #6 by ShadowFist
You are correct. ZHA is still running, but I can see no way to stop or uninstall or delete it. Here is the screen. There are no buttons, but it says that ZHA is online. Now what?
Go back 1 screen in the integration page. Click the 3 dot menu on the right, then hit Disable, Delete or Ignore, whichever one you can see
There is no “Back one screen” in the integration page. There is no integration for Zigbee. I can only get to ZHA by selecting Zigbee from the Settings menu. Going back simply returns me to the Settings menu.
The integration is called Zigbee Home Automation I believe. Settings → Devices & Services Click these three dots:
EVERBODY that thinks this is a user error gets this wrong.
I don’t have a ZHA integration to delete. I had an ignored ZHA integration showing in the ignored integrations area after I moved to Z2M, but I deleted that.
Yet I see this:
When selecting the Zigbee integration listed on the Settings screen, this pops up with NO WAY TO DELETE IT.
It appears that for some of us this only shows because we have a ZHA coordinator hooked up (regardless that it’s utilized for for Z2M only).
Thanks for listening.
I’m guessing this is the integration for the coordinator device, not ZHA?
I wouldn’t know, I’m overwhelmed with some (er - most, rather) of this - but that’s an interesting distinction if that’s what it is.
