Zigbee2MQTT: Automation stopped working after Update

Hello everyone,

After I refused to update to Z2M 2.0 for months (otherwise I would have had to rebuild too much), I accidentally came across the update button yesterday and was afraid that all my devices were gone. After a couple of clicks on Start and activating Frontpage Onboarding, I landed on the new UI of Z2M. I am using HA connected to the Z2M add-on, Hue lamps that are connected separately via the HA Hue integration, everything else on Zigbee devices such as motion sensors or those for temperature, are connected via Z2M and MQTT.

Some of my automations still work as usual, others (e.g. the motion sensor for the bathroom light) no longer work, or only partially. In the case of the bathroom, the Aqara sensor recognizes occupancy, but the light connected via Home Assistant and Hue does not turn on, but via voice on Alexa automatically off after 8 minutes. The fact that it goes out after 8 minutes is actually part of the automation mentioned above (and has nothing to do with Alexa).

This means that the trigger of the automation (the motion sensor) does not work, while the other action with turning off, works as intended.

Does anyone have an idea what issue this could be and how I can get the automation working again?

Please work through this first to remedy any breaking changes: Zigbee2MQTT 2.0.0 breaking changes · Koenkk/zigbee2mqtt · Discussion #24198 · GitHub

Then have a look here regarding automations: Using the new action events in Zigbee2MQTT 2.0

That was the very first thing I did, even months ago, when the problems with the Major Update started. Should actually be the first thing to do when having problems after updating.

Unfortunately, it still does not help me with my automation.
