Zigbee2MQTT breaking change - configuration

I’m not sure how to understand this (marked in bold below:)

" * :warning: Breaking changes

  • Most Zigbee2MQTT configuration is now done in Zigbee2MQTT directly (either via the UI or by modifying the configuration file, usually /config/zigbee2mqtt/configuration.yaml, directly).As Zigbee2MQTT won’t start with an [MQTT server]

You must configure these through the add-on configuration page before you can start Zigbee2MQTT for the first time.

Existing installations should be able to safely remove the Zigbee2MQTT configuration from the add-on configuration as these values should have already been persisted to the configuration file.

Does this mean that after upgrading I caan safely remove the configuration.yaml in /config/zigbee2mqtt/configuration.yaml? I don’t want to mess my almost 200 devices up…

I don’t have nearly 200 devices here, only 59 :confused: Updated here and NO problemo.

I don’t think you need to do anything with the configuration.yaml

Maybe :thinking: a backup could possibly be your friend …not sure …?

Everything working fine for me.

The second paragraph does not make sense either. Missing punctuation(s) aside, is that supposed to be “without” instead of “with”…?

I agree. Badly worded.

After updating the addon look in the supervisor log. It will tell you which configuration options are no longer valid and should be removed from the addon configuration.

@TheLordVader @k8gg ,
