Zigbee2mqtt firmware update of zigbee devices

I'm using Zigbee2mqtt and it's constantly talking about devices it wants to update, but it never can.

This is a constant annoyance for me because I keep seeing it. I always press Skip because Update doesn't do anything. The devices work properly but updating does nothing.

Does anyone know how to get rid of these messages?

The easiest way to get rid of them is to do the update. Look up the device update process for those devices. Many battery devices need you to keep them awake by pressing the buttons for them to pay attention long enough to start the OTA process.

Thank you I'll try that tonight!

Z2M also has the option to schedule the update from the OTA screen:

As per the Z2M docs:
scheduled: An update may start on the next update check requested by the device

I've never bothered with scheduling because I'm too impatient. Always woke up battery devices & had them update immediately, like @winston suggested.

I find scheduling works for most devices, but some of my battery ones it didn't. I suppose it's the "next update check requested by the device" if they are just pushing a status ping rather than do a full wake-up and check.

Ok thank you. One of the two is now up to date. The other still refuses.

This has been a thing for months. One of them is now updated. The motion sensor isn't. There are buttons on the back and I press them but the update button doesn't do a thing.

I have a third reality plug that updated, but doesn't think it updated. Every time I do an OS update now it pops up. I press update, nothing happens. I push ignore, it goes away until the OS updates again and the ignore is apparently cleared.
Been doing this for most of a year now. I never wrote it up, I probably should.

And the last one also updated. didn't do anything for a while and it's now up to date. thanks everyone!

In the z2m OTA section you can force a device to reinstall an update, as well as see the status and timing of the update as it happens. Perhaps give that a try?

So spotted this green thing in there on it. I'll see if it will clear it.
Thanks for the tip.
