Zigbee2mqtt Interview failed because can not get node descriptor"

I myself bought two new Frient SMSZB-120 and wanted to add them to the 2 existing smoke alarms from Frient (same type) this week. I get the “Interview failed because can not get node descriptor” with both new detectors. Also when I remove one of the two detectors that was already paired for several months and try to pair it again, I also get the message “Interview failed because can not get node descriptor”. I see several other messages with all kinds of solutions here and on Github such as replacing the battery, rebooting, etc. but nothing helped. What can I contribute to possibly solve this or am I hijacking the wrong topic?

What method are you using to remove the devices?

Aer there still related entries for these devices under the Devices tab in the Z2M web UI?

Hello, I have forced removed the detector and then there are no more devices in the tab of the UI of zb2mqtt. Also not under devices > entries of HA itself. Incidentally, as an experiment with another stick ZHA added to HA and it sees the smoke detectors at once:-(

Do you have ZHA and Z2M running simultaneously?

Only to test if it was a defect of the fire detector.ZHA pairs it correctly.

Honestly, that’s a good thing in some regards. I think testing ZHA was a great method to eliminate possible issues. I’ll have to dig a little more!
