ZSE41 ZooZ wrong state reported

Hi,

I’m running the latest firmware 2.20.0, on the new nabu casa ZWA-2 in Longue Range Mode (ID: 257) BUT the device keeps reporting the wrong status.
The sliding door is closed but reported open!!
Annoying !

It’s not too far but protected in the waterproof case so difficult to acces !

Would it be more accurate if switch to mesh normal zwave network topology?
I saw many user reporting this annoying behaviour.

Any ideas / pointer to investigate ?

Hello Razor_78,

  • Being zwave there may be a parameter in it to flip that.
  • You could create a template that is the opposite state.
  • Spook integration may be able to do something as well.

How is your ZSE41 mounted? It is my experience that reed switch sensors often do not work properly with sliding doors or windows if the two sensor parts are mounted one above the over.

In fact it’s difficult to do differently but before sticking it I’ve tried many different implementations.

It looks to me that you haven’t followed the installation instructions.

“Place the sensor on the moving part of the door / window and
the magnet on the frame so that the grey orientation marks on
both parts are directly opposite each other.”

Also, a magnetic reed sensor may not work too well with a steel door/fence. If repositioning the sensor pieces does not help, try to further separate them from the steel.

So I have to report back .
I followed the instructions and moved the sensor on the moving part and managed to align magnet and sensor , directly opposite to each other and it’s now 2 weeks and all is fine!!

Having said all that , I’m do not fully comprehend the difference between the 2 setup … if someone could shed some light :flushed:

This looks better. The two parts are aligned better. The magnet is closer to the reed switch. The grey lines indicate the center of the reed switch and, more or less, the magnet.
