ZWA-2 / ESP poe LAN configuration problems

Hello,

I’m currently trying to setup the ZWA-2 Adapter with an ESP poe LAN as described here:

It’s a new unconfigured HA OS installation.

I installed the firmware on the ESP as described. It is visible in my network.

Then the next steps are to configure it in HA (step 7):
I will use the “Home Assistant OS with Z-Wave JS add-on managed by the Z-Wave integration”.
→ Therefore the App “Z-Wave JS” needs to be installed. While installing I had to set up a device, I choosed the only option dev/ttyS0 although it is not correct.
Next stept: “Open Home Assistant and check for discovered ESPHome devices on the integrations page. Configure the discovered device.”
→ I did it, nothiong special configured. The ESPHome is now shown in integrations.

“The next step: On the same page, once ESPHome has been configured, look for the discovered Z-Wave device. Configure it.”
That’s where I stopped. I am not sure what to do. I can not find any discovered Z-Wave devices.

Can someone please help me with the configuration? I’m not sure what’s wrong :frowning:

You weren’t supposed to install the Z-Wave JS add-on manually. The discovery does that for you and configures it properly.

I uninstalled Z-Wave JS JS add-on and also the ESP device.

I checked for discovered ESPHome devices on the integrations page and configure the discovered device. Configuration means set up the name and the area.
Then I go back to the integrations page. I only see a new Bluetooth integration with the ZWA-2 device. But no Z-Wave.

The article says:
On the same page, once ESPHome has been configured, look for the discovered Z-Wave device. Configure it.

Unfortunately no Z-Wave device has been discovered.

I still can’t get the ZWA-2 wit ESP running. I want to describe my process of integration in detail:

HA discovered the ESPHome.

I click on Add, assign Device name and Area.
Then I get this page:

According to the guide, I should then search for detected Z-Wave devices on the same page (=Integrations).
There I can only find a new Bluetooth device.

What is this Bluetooth device? The ESP or the ZWA-2?

No new Z-Wave device discovered :frowning:

Is there something else I have to do? Did I forget something? Currently I have no more ideas what to do…

I’d appreciate any help.

I’ve tried it dozens of times now. I also reinstalled the ESP and updated the firmware of the ZWA-2.

No I installed manually the Z-Wave integration and added a device with port esphome://192…
Now it works.
Step 7 (This step is for people running a recommended Z-Wave installation:) doesn´t work, no Z-Wave is discovered.
It only works once I add the device to the Z-Wave integration via esphome//192… as described in Step 8.
