Why was the RGB function removed, and will it return?
Latest version
1.1
Correct default powerlevels for EU region
Remove RGB and dimming functionality from the LED, convert to cold-white on/off light
Change tilt indication to fast blinking
This could/would make kind of a neat small desk laptop/nightlight if the led was exposed and controllable, but the white off/on restriction reduces that utility.
FWIW, the migration from my zoos 800 (ZWJSUI) was straightforward and seemingly problem free, so thanks for that.
Does anyone know if itâs possible to update the ZWA-2 firmware if youâre running a separate zwave-js-ui server (so not as addon in HomeAssistant but on another device). In the zwave-js-ui interface I see several firmware update options but they donât seem to find any updates. Iâm fine with flashing the firmware manually but couldnât figure out how to do that either⌠I found these URLs in the docs GitHub - NabuCasa/zwave-firmware: Z-Wave Controller firmwareGitHub - NabuCasa/zwave-esp-bridge: Firmware for the ESP UART bridge but they are a bit light on details unfortunately
yes, i run standalone zwave-js-ui and was able to update to 1.1. Luckily, the firmware update showed up for me in the UI, so it was easy. I have noted that the firmware update service is not always consistent though. Maybe a reboot can kickstart the firmware check again?
Thanks for the quick response! When you say it showed up in the UI do you mean the zwave-js-ui itself or somehow in HomeAssistant? Iâve never received any update notifications in zwave-js-ui (except for the software itself) and when I check for firmware updates from zwave-js-ui manually it seems to just keep loading forever? No hints in the logs as to anything failing so kind of stuck troubleshooting this.
Do you have some kind of firewall rules that are blocking access to the Z-Wave JS firmware upgrade service?
If you are continuing to have trouble, you could try the ZWA-2 Toolbox. Just plug the ZWA-2 into a PC that has the Chrome browser, and open that link with Chrome. It can upgrade the firmware for you.
Thanks for the extra info! Really weird that it doesnât show up for me, I donât even get the âNo updates availableâ response, it just shows a loading spinner for me with the text âRemember to wake up sleeping devicesâŚâ. Already turned on DEBUG logging but it doesnât show anything related to this. @freshcoast thanks for the suggestion, I doublechecked but the container that itâs running in has full network access so that shouldnât be an issue. Iâll have to troubleshoot some more to figure this out. Thanks for the replies!
Just replaced my Zooz ZST39LR with the ZWA-2 today running Zwave JS UI on a separate VM from home assistant and it was flawless. This is how the firmware upgrade shows up for me both in ZWave JS UI and Home Assistant. I performed the upgrade from HA and have also included screenshots of the update in progress from HA and ZWJSUI. Final screenshots post update also included. The replacement and the subsequent firmware update were flawless.
Thanks for the extensive reply! Thatâs certainly not how it looks for me. Iâve recently migrated my HomeAssistant Core installation (soon deprecated) to HomeAssistant OS so I think it might be best if I migrate to the ZwaveJS UI addon option there. Saves me from having to mess with NodeJS stuff which is a big win in my book anyway
Just in case anyone else comes across this: switching to the ZwaveJS UI addon immediately made the available firmware update show up, so issue solved
Correct, you must have read the same release notes I did. Do you remember what colour they said the light was going to be instead? And what colour I said my light still was after updating?
