ZWA-2 not plug and play?

I am very new to Home Assistant. I’m trying to replace my old Wemo system. I am not a developer just a user. I would really appreciate help on that level. I bought a Green set it up and it immediately found my Wemo devices cool!. I added Zigbee antenna and added a couple of those devices yea! then i added the ZWA-2 to cover Z wave with some Shelly devices. This is where it all went to hell. None of the device can find the Green. It tells me that although it sees the Antenna as a device “Z wave has not been set up” It takes me through a recommended procedure and then stalls with a spinning wheel forever.

Any clue as to what is going on?

Yes, another user is having similar Green symptoms in another thread and I wonder if it the same cause?

Did you read the docs at Z-Wave - Home Assistant ? Those should should help.

You don’t need to be a developer to use Z-Wave. But you still need to be a little technical - I think that still applies to many parts of HA, though.

New Z-wave devices are never auto-discovered. They need to be paired first. You should be able to get started by going to Settings / Devices / Add Z-wave device. From there, HA will install an add-on, either the Z-Wave JS or Z-wave JS UI add-on. Either add-on should automatically find your ZWA-2. You should then be able to include your Z-wave devices. That will involve a process called “inclusion”. You initiate inclusion from HA. Then, you complete it on the device side, often by pressing a button.

The easiest way to add devices on an ongoing basis is to use SmartStart, if your devices have a QR code, and add them using the HA app on your smartphone. However, HA requires SSL/TLS to allow scanning that QR code. If you are not technical, subscribing to HA cloud will automatically setup SSL/TLS for you. It’s free for the first 30 days. If you can’t afford or don’t want to subscribe, you can SSL/TLS yourself with a self-signed cert - it will take a bit more technical skill, though.

Thanks for the help The solution was much simpler and dumber on my part. I just needed to be closer to the antenna to do the initial setup now it works like a charm
