Zwave driver failed to open

Hi

After running the latest update and subsequent restart my Zwave devices failed to become active.

I noticed in the Zwave JS UI it says Driver failed to open. I tried a Zwave restart and HA restart but same problem. Prior to the update I had removed a number of old Zwave devices that are no longer in use.

Can anyone suggest how I might fix this please as I have no idea where to start.

Many thanks

Andy

Have you tried unplugging the z-wave stick and re-adding it? Have you rebooted your whole host device?

Hi

It is a Humix hub with built in Zwave & Zigbee, but yes I’ve powered it off , unplugged the power and network cable , waited a min or so then powered back on but still have major problems with Zwave since the last update.

I would really like to know what on earth that update did to my hub but it killed it .

I restored from backup , only the Zwave part and that allowed Zwave to start and in the Zwave ui I can see the devices but they do not appear in HA which is weird

Does anyone have any ideas please ?
Thank you

How did you only restore zwave part?

Is this HAOS?

If zwavejsui is OK and HA does not see it it means you’ve connected them wrong or using incompatible version of jwavejsui.

Verify zwavjsui is compatible version.

Verify websocket is enabled in zwavejsui.

Verify connection details for zwavejsui in HA.

Before all that you can look at logs and it might tell you issue.

Hi

I used the backup function under settings/general
and then selected the backup and the wave option under there. It helped to allow zwave to start but in the end I had to uninstall both zwave is and js uni and re-install.

Problem now is this lost every device so I have to reset each device and run the inclusion wizard in zwave is. However when I do it doesn’t find the device.

So my thinking is that I need to amend the configuration setting in zwave js to the correct device but I don’t know what that is for my hub …
So I will have to try each setting in turn.

I will be very cautious about future updates ….
