ZWave Entities seem broken after device change

I was using a Nortek Zigbee/ZWave combo and I wanted to switch Zigbee coordinators which meant I needed to change my ZWave as well. ZWaveJS wouldn’t migrate my Nortek settings because the firmware was too old and, since I only had 3 devices on my Z-Wave network, I figured easier to delete and start over.

It was a bit of work since I actually had to fully remove Z-WaveJS to get rid of it and set it up again with the new coordinator (HA Connect ZWA-2). Before I did that I went to my single Z-Wave thermostat and excluded it successfully. I deleted the two electrical receptacles as they were reporting “dead” (there’s a reason my Z-Wave network has stayed small). Once I installed ZWaveJS with the new ZWA-2 I was able to re-add my thermostat and I gave it the same name. At first things seemed OK-ish.

But it sort of half works. All the dashboards are wrong but when I look into the stats history that’s correct. Also, if I change the thermostat temp it doesn’t show on the thermostat card but it does actually make the change at the thermostat (and the stats history shows it). If I look at the Activity pane for the thermostat ZWave device in ZWave, there are no new entries showing up. If I go to the overall Activities (formerly Log) and filter by the thermostat I see all the times the thermostat turned the heat on and off over the last day.

So it’s sort of half broken. This is my overall card. Note that it has current heat and humidity at the top. If I click on one of those I get the stats history.

If I click on the thermostat card itself and then look at the details I see this

Note the sparse Activity. That’s the same Activity you’d see in the ZWave device page. But if I go to Activities and filter, I get this

I suspect some sort of a disconnect on IDs under all of this but I don’t know how to inspect them, let alone fix them. They don’t show in the UI for the card that I can find.

Anyone have any idea what this could be? Sorry for the long post but I think the pictures really show the issue.

Well, if you automated with device_id’s originally and now changed the ID’s because of other factors, you may have to edit a bunch of stuff to fix it.

Yeah, but these are just dashboards, not automations. You literally enter the entity id, and it is correct. As you can see in the screen grabs, it’s sort of half working. Weird as heck and I don’t know where to start. I’m assuming when I deleted the old installation there was some “cruft” left somewhere that’s incorrectly matched up.
