ZWave Latency and message delays

I have roughly 50 Z-Wave 500/700 devices, on my Z-Wave network connected to a ZWA-2.

All of the devices are then ported to Google Assistant and Siri.

Whenever I ask Google Assistant or Siri to “Turn off all the lights” at night, I always have a few devices unresponsive or lagged behind for a few seconds before turning off. I am pretty sure this delay is not from the assistants since some of the devices respond instantly. And I also tried using the Voice PE via a local model.

The ZWA-2 is in my basement, but the signal strength looks pretty healthy to all of my devices.

I might be extra picky about this because all of the lights were using Shelly relays before with almost instant response. I am tempted to switch back, but I want to give Z-Wave powered devices a fair shot since I got a bunch of sensors on Z-Wave too, replacing my old Zigbee sensors.

Hi,

those delays are a typical sign of a non reliable mesh and/or broken routes to/from the node. Can you post a picture of your network graph?

@memphi2 Forgot to tag you in the reply. Graph looks normal to me?

It does not look really bad, but it’s far away from perfect. You have some single points of failiure(Bedroom Shade and Curtain), some slow routes and routes with unnecessary hops. Let me guess, eg. Porch Light is delayed.
Try to rebuild routes of the delayed nodes, or set the routes manually, so I did.
The graph of one of my networks, no delays at all…

Oh, forgot to mention…currently it is NOT possible the set a direct route from the conroller to a node manually. There is a bug in SDK 7.23. So I did that using an ZAC93 with an older SDK and exported the NVM.

I think we have to wait for a new firmware with SDK 7.24.2 to have this issue fixed:
