Hi,
I have big 140 node z-wave network which use Fibaro (HC2, switches, dimmers, shutters, temp sensors) and some other zwave brands (door locks, power meters, MCO 2-pipe climate thermostats).
I want to move this to HA. I don’t known which external zwave integration I should choose: zwave-Mqtt or OpenZWave beta (old qt-OpenZWave)?
Which is more stable and supports now more zwave devices? Which is more future proof?
Ps. I found that there is also one more project: zwavejs-mqtt???
There should be one page in HA zwave manual which describes: what are differences between those projects/integrations and what is actual status of those???
I am currently using zwave2mqtt with 20ish devices and it is working good.
The amount of devices shouldn’t really matter (up to the limit anyway).
I like the MQTT route since I only include what I use, I don’t do auto-discovery. If you do it my route it will take you some time to setup.
I do like the webpage for the Zwave2MQTT in that it will actually attempt to display the mesh layout of your zwave network showing what devices see other devices. This could be helpful in determining which fringe devices may need a repeater or other power device to repeat for them as a backup route.
