I am using Homeassistant (complete OS) on a raspbnerry PI 4B on a 16GB micro-SD. I tried to switch from that micro SD to a USB-SSD.
I watched https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-t-546IAio…
Complete backup, make Home Assistant boot from USB-SSD, restored backup.
Everything went through withou errors. All Integrations came back up, except for the Z-wave integration.
Before backup:
HAOS 15.2
Home Assistant Core 2025.11.3
Fresh installed Home-Assistant with backup restored:
On a pi, sounds like a USB power problem. But that’s guessing. Provide zwave logs to see more
It’s also possible the name/path of the ZWave dongle changed when you added the other USB device. I’d check the USB device names/paths to see. It looks like lsusb for the RPi5 will give you a list of devices. If the ZWave device isn’t there, you probably have a power problem as noted above. If it is listed, I’d check and see if the path matches what the ZWave integration in HA has for the path.
Even simpler. Just go to Settings > System > Hardware > All Hardware and you can check there.
