Zwave response times

Hi guys, I have an issue in that I have several automations that run for lighting, using Zwave devices some Fibaro some Everspring they used to work pretty much ok 99.8% of the time on Domoticz, I have now moved over to Home Assistant but many rooms need the pir to activate twice before the lights come on, then other times instant.

This morning come downstairs hall lamps straight on walked past toilet straight on (Dont ask) Kitchen nothing have a wander round nothing finally sucuumb and switch it on manually.

Other times straight on no delay, Wife comes down goes to her office (dining Room) nothing wanders about gives up then it finally comes on, Last night goes to the office to get a drink around 9 nothing then 30secs later lights on as im coming out, again other times comes on instantly. same wih the bathroom. Im using a PI4 4Gb with a proper genuine power supply the USB Z Wave and Zigbee Sticks are on the USB 2 ports and on 2m usb extenders in opposite directions.

The Core CPU is running at 1.4% and Core Ram running at 13.8%

Even the Zigbee is hit and miss, I have a Zigbee light switch in the bedroom to control a Zwave Fibaro double switch and that is sluggish and seems to need 2 hits to get it going ay ideas im loosing mind here cheers

What zwave do you use? The built in one, openzwave beta or zwave2mqtt?

Hi there I use the following:

zwave

Not that this helps, but just stating how it should be, my Z-Wave and ZigBee actions are instant. My lights will turn on within the blink of an eye from pressing a button or switching them in the HA GUI, same for motion controlled lights.

There is definitely something wrong with your setup somewhere. Could it be how you have coded the automations?

What I have done previously is to walk around with a tablet watching the relevant motion sensors to determine whether it’s the sensors not being triggered or HA not responding.

I did follow the HA demo code for light switching,

just 2 of the lights in my system Dining is a Dimmer (Fibaro) and the Kitchen (Fibaro double relay)
Both are within max 10m of the Pi4 same floor non foil backed non insulated plasterboard is in between the Pi & the kitchen, and the Dining room is a Red Brick internal wall

My logs seem to have some issues too

Might have to give that a go, it seems to be getting worse.
I might start from scratch, see if that works it just takes ages to setup again, and i dont get hours of time, but needs must
