Resolved this issue by downgrading to 0.55.1, then upgrading directly to 0.56.2.
Not sure why my last update didn’t apply the fix, but I I upgraded incrementally going to 0.56.0, 0.56.1, 0.56.2
same issue (with xiaomi gateway but also with notifications with pushbullet).
But I’m with hass.io and I can’t downgrade. Waiting for 0.57
