Well since only about 50% of people are running HA on an rpi according to analytics I dont think an rpi tag would make things more intuitive. But I do wish the option was in the ‘c’ menu, I’m sure it’ll get there eventually.
I don’t run on RPi and would never consider doing so, but…
If you add all the RPi systems together the percentage is already about 54%. Then you need to factor in that a large number of people listed under VM also run on RPi. I’d guess the RPi total is closer to (maybe North of) 70% of all installations.
Does anyone know where the reload/restart options for the SUPERVISOR (not the host, not HA) went after that GUI redesign ?!?
Many of us searched like hell and no one could find them anymore.
I think it’s the top right restart button - ‘Settings / System’ before going on to other screens.
It has been removed. If you need to restart the supervisor (you should never need to do this) you can do it via the CLI.
Thanks Tom - do you know what the one on the ‘Settings / System’ screen is for as opposed to restart on ‘Developer Tools / YAML’ and ‘Settings / System / Hardware’ - I assume a duplicate of the ‘Developer Tools / YAML’ restart?
Settings → System → Restart button: Restarts Home Assistant
Developer Tools → YAML → Restart button: Restarts Home Assistant
Settings → System → Hardware → Overflow Menu (three dots): reboots the host machine, you should hardly ever need to do this, which is why it is less accessible.
Thanks for confirmation. So we can stop out search journey
SHOULD, but if backups fail and devs point to an „recently unstable / unreliable Supervisor“ a restart might be useful, without the need of restarting the whole host. So CLI is the way to go, got it.
Thanks for the confirmation also. Outside of HA restarts, I’ve only rarely used Reboot Host (seemed to be the only way I could pick up IoTaWatt changes) and Shutdown Host (prior to known power outages to ensure a clean boot).
Since the latest update from August, 25th I can’t change any of my dashboards.
The problem is, I am not able to store any changes. I already tried restart. Even the core was restarted but without any change.
You are in the May thread, please post in the August thread.,
Why has the link to /hassio/system been removed?
Everything is still there, you just can’t easily access it using the GUI anymore. Of course one can (and I will) create a link in my custom admin view. But… why has it been removed? Accidentally maybe?
It is part of the streamlining of the interface. I do not partake in the discussions around UI design, so you are asking the wrong person.
For now. No guarantees for how long.
Who / where to ask instead?
Did the same. It was a perfect overview with all options, which are now split around at several (mostly empty) places or hidden menus or even not available anymore in general. For me in my personal view, the opposite of streamlining.
Exactly. That’s why I simply don‘t get that removal.
The “Streamling” is supposedly an ongoing process. I guess we should be patient.
There’s very likely a discussion on it already so please search first.
Thank you. Searched, couldn’t find one, created one.
Please vote up if you want this back too:
I’d like to add my 2 cents to the new Automation page. I like some of the module capabilities, but the inability to move actions around is disastrous. For example, if one wants to add a delay at the beginning, one has to replace the topmost action & then rebuild the former action at the bottom. Assuming that’s where you want it. We really need that ability to move stuff.
Also, I really dislike not being able to yaml the whole automation at once rather than just bits of.
