2023.10: New looks and more tile card features!

5 releases in 5 days. And you are proud of what exactly? There is a development branch that is never used. Instead you push out new revisions like they dont mean anything. When they do. A release should not be done daily. It should be held with respect and care so that your users are upgrading every day until you figure it out.

Promptly addressing the issues revealed in this release.

Incorrect. There is a beta release that is tested before every major release by a limited number of people. Feel free to join the beta program to make the release candidate even more issue free.

None of the minor releases are breaking changes, they are bug fixes that assist users in maintaining a stable working platform.

Not sure what you count as ā€ždayā€œ but 2023.10.0 was released beginning of October and not 5 days prior to .5 :grinning:
I am personally happy when a monthly release gets several minor releases as this confirms active bug fixing and makes the release even more stableā€¦

Indeed, which makes [scottbob09] commends even more ā€œpeculiarā€

So , does he actually means it should be made ā€œinstantlyā€ or ā€œhourlyā€, or does he just mean ā€œCool down, a fix will be released next monthā€ ???

Maybe he wantā€™s another ā€œoptionā€ ā€¦ ( beside that he can update when ever he find it suitable ) , like one that when a user Reports a Bug, the user can choose when it should be ā€œfixed and releasedā€

awesome jobā€¦ 23.10.x broke HA with each version more for meā€¦ HA MacOS App SSL error, NodeRed broken, everything unbelievable buggy, laggy and slow ā€¦ i really donā€™t like how fast you push untested versions ā€¦ now i learned not to update - and if i need to update, i prepare for a lot of stress

or please make a ā€œsuper-stable-versionā€ ā€¦ since the stable-version is not stable at all

seriously, other than having problems, i did not noticed changes at all ā€¦ why the update?

btw. the repair section was a April 1st joke, right?

Only on your system. Working very stable here.

You have provided no debugging information or logs so it is a bit difficult to tell you what is wrong with your system.

2023.11 is due for release next week.

Hi there,

am I the only one with HA 2023.10.5 where one of my tracked persons (actually myself) gets classified as ā€œHomeā€ rather than ā€œhomeā€ when Iā€™m returning to my home zone?
This causes issues related to automations since those expect the status to be ā€œhomeā€ and not ā€œHomeā€ (with capital letter H).

Iā€™ve no clue why it happens and even just for one out of two users on same system.
The other user (my wife) is fine all the time.

And, the issue is not just present since 2023.10.5 for me, but used to be there several times in the past.

Any hint would be appreciated since it is hard to find something directly related across the web.

Thanks!

Which tracking integration are you using?

Are you confusing the translated state in the frontend with the actual backend state?

Look in Developer Tools ā†’ States. What is the state listed as there?

Hi, Iā€™m using the (latest) Android app on my mobile.
My wife just gets tracked via wifi-network presence of her mobile (so without the app).
So itā€™s a device tracker.

And, the state ā€œHomeā€ is also reflected in the backend, e.g. by checking it via Dev. Tools.

Could it be an issue related to having several devices being tracked for my person?
There is also a tablet and smart watch. I think Iā€™m gonna remove them for now to see what will happen.
Not needed to track those as well, actually.

Sounds like you have a second home zone named Home.

True indeed!
Iā€™ve now renamed it to something else. Letā€™s see if it will improve something.
Thank you!

Iā€™m running stock HA-OS with RPI4. ā€œmy systemā€ is the same as for so many others

anyways, either OS 11.1 or HA 2023.10.5 and/or 1000 restarts and/or a dozend ā€œha supervisor repairā€ somehow fixed it. UI is responsive again, nodered is working again - wonder for how long.
HA-MacOS-App still SSL error.

this is not the first time i had to manually plug the power-cord (stuck at reboot) or needed to install a backup after HA updates. again, with stock HA-OS RPI4. just like many others

not having the users worry about updates (the way i do) should be #1 goal.

No you donā€™t have exactly the same integrations and config as everybody.

And again, no debug info or logs so we canā€™t help. Sorry.

I can only speak for myself, but apart from my small issue with the ā€œHomeā€ attribute, which was most probably caused by my mistake, HA works like a charm for me since very long.

Iā€™m running it inside Proxmox VM (QEMU) on x86-64, always on latest versions.

Awesome job by all the contributors!

Hello, after updating to 10.5 my rPI3b+ randomly loses WiFi config, switching from static to deactivated. I use WiFi as a secondary network for some security related devices, and it worked like a charm for years until now.
Have you got some idea about this bug? Thank you so much for your time.

FYI thereā€™s an add-on update available that updates mosquitto to 2.0.18 for those with issues. Be sure to tick the backup box when installing this time.
