2025.9: Features for tiles and automations for miles

It depends on the hub type. Apparently if it’s a hub pro - there’s an issue.

I’d really like the developers to pay special attention to the “entities panel.”
I really like this panel because it allows you to group all the controls of interest into a single automation, but it lacks some improvements, such as:

  • Creating an option to enable or disable an entity in the panel, based on a given condition.
  • Creating an option to make an entity in the panel visible or invisible, based on a given condition.
  • Allowing you to enable or disable the “tap action” property of entities in the panel in a simplified (visual) way.

These three simple improvements would make this panel very powerful, allowing you to build adaptive and highly configurable controls.

No logs = no issue.

I just realited the Bridge itself had locked up independently from the HA update, just bad timing…
Updated to 2025.9.0 again and Hue continues to work after restarting the bridge…

I use μg/m³ for my particle sensors in ESPHome.
The release notes say it is a “breaking change”.

What do I need to change in the following to keep it all working…

  • ESPHome
  • HA

Why is there a Plus symbol (+) suddenly appeared in the header in this release?

I didn’t see any mention of it in the release note or comments.
Why is the frontend continually being screwed around with without proper documentation???

And how do you remove it?

EDIT: I see there is a new config option proposed in the HACS Kiosk Mode to solve this but i haven’t been able to see how to install this

I am not a fan of autogenerated dashboards, they often put in too much clutter. But the new Home dashboard, I have to say it did a pretty good job selecting the right entities. It’s like 90% there.
Kudos to HA team.

The new home dashboard is nice, but don’t remove the current one with ALL the entries. I find that one very useful for debugging and testing, and I use it very often.

I took control of the new home dashboard. What summaries are supported for the home-summary card? It seems like light, climate, security, and media players showed up. Anything else?

I wonder what happened with experimental area dashboard? Was that idea abandoned? And Home dashboard is the new direction?

I personally prefer Home dashboard over area dashboard as default one.

I use my custom dashboard (Sections) built from zero, so I don’t really care about default dashboard.

+1. Horizontal scrolling is the worst. I don’t know about others, but the editor width is only 47 characters wide.

They are still there (and still experimental).
I also don’t use either but for novice user a good autogenerated dashboard can help immensely (I know it took me quite some time to build a dashboard).

Yes, same here. Soilsensors show as “unavailable” in the integration. They work and update fine in the Ecowitt app.
I have a second HA installation (on the last 2025.8 version), which I’ve not updated, and the Ecowitt soil sensors still work fine on that version.

Yep can confirm that this is the same for me - soil sensor dropped off with update. Temp sensors all still good, soil sensor reporting ok in WSView app but unavailable in HA.

The new home dashboard is nice, but gets very messy if you have radiator valves, thermostats and the virtual devices all reporting same values. (Homematic). The new Home screen also managed to find entities that do not exist in the DB (states_meta) and then complains the entities do not exist. Also the climate button is just throwing an error when clicked.

Error loading the view strategy:
TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating ‘e.entity_id’).

Do I have some kind of database corruption?

One area does not have any contents, whereas in the normal overview screen it does. The area dashboard however shows the same problem.

I’d like to use the new Bar Gauge card, but I can’t find it in the card list.
The only Gauge I see, is the rounded semi-circle one.
What am I missing?

Sorry, i had to roll back to 2025.8.3 - all works fine except the Solarfocus Integration which Communicates via Modbus Port 502 - the Connection was okay, but no IO between HA instance and Solarfocus Therminator was generated in new Version… I controlled everything, switch the version, the Ports, check cables, restart HA & Solarfocus Manager several times - nothing but a roll back to old version was my solution at the moment

I believe this might be due to the information provided by (another) integrator. I would check the issues at the repo of the integration you are using.

This isn’t related to the update. The BMW integration stopped working at the beginning of September, when BMW said it would stop allowing API calls from 3rd parties (such as HA).

I fixed my Problem:
i checked my version of HACS Integrateted Solarfocus Add on and yes: 4.x
i go to HACS integration - enable sensor for Pre Release, cause i got no info for an update available - wait and got the update info for it and installed it - Works Both - New HA Version and the PreRelease of Solarfocus
