2026.4: Infrared never left the chat

Completely agree.

I like the new triggers a lot. And I appreciate the newly introduced support for labels

Now I wanted to use something like this.

trigger: window.opened
target:
  floor_id: erdgeschoss
options:
  behavior: any

to trigger an action notification about open windows, but not immediately instead after being opened for 20min.
I can’t figure out how to that.

The “old” triggers support for: h:m:s
What is the equivalent for the new triggers?

That came up during the release party livestream as well. IIRC it’s not possible yet, but on hte list of things to add, I can’t update lots of my automations yet either

Love the new gauges, a lot easier on the eyes!

since the last 2 updates…we have this problem

the name of this gauge should be in my languange like all others…
second >>>

the part if ya hover over it doesn’t do it eighter!
now im wondering!
why not fxed yet?
is it not noticed
or forgotten?

Switchbot Keypad Vision Doorbell still not working despite claiming so in the 2026.4.3 release changelog, me sad.

Edit: Nvm, this time it was my own mistake, works now, thank you!

Translations are provided through lokalise (documentation here). If some elements are not translated it usually means nobody has contributed a translation yet for that language. You can contribute missing frontend translations here.

If it used to be translated in an older version, the source string probably changed and so a new translation needs contributing.

There is no support for for: in the new triggers, this will be added in the future though.

Is there a way to have a favorite light brightness without setting up a script and putting it in the dashboard?

A script or a scene I guess is the way to do it. Could make a feature request for brightness to be included into favorite colors, idk if that would work or not but not sure if it was ever looked into.

It’s annoying when adjusting a light’s brightness and getting 49 or 52% instead of 50% consistently

It’s been many years since lights got any love in HA, so I’ve switched to the scenery custom integration for all my lighting needs. It works perfectly and you can define defaults. It’s particularly useful if you have a mix of brands.

Thank You Tom!

latest core update fixed this!
thank you!

Can anyone tell me if latest IR proxy only works with API direct connection or also via MQTT integration? Because I was wondering if it could also be used from remote location without the need of a vpn connection between home assistant server and esphome device.

I could not tell how many times already they have not tested UI changes for themes for such regression… or junk quality to name it correctly.

This was the only change required for me + naturally formatting existing theme color settings with deeper indentation… whoever decided there are required modes in every theme - let’s your beer always be warm…

Both the default theme and my self made one (made a couple of years ago and never touched) don’t have this problem. So maybe this is a flawed custom theme?

It’s the custom theme for sure. I use one and I had the problem, the theme needed to be updated.
