2Gig panel intgration

Hello, I relatively new to Home Assistant. I recently bought a house that had a Vivint security system in in. The previous owner took the control panel which was fine. But there are door and window sensors on the entire main level. I would like to try to utilize these sensors. I am trying to find out if I were to get a 2Gig panel with no monitor package, can I piggy back it on to home assistant? I really just want to read the state of the sensors. At some point I will setup HASS to “arm” and use the state of those sensors to decide what to do. I do have some Z wave devices but already have a Z wave dongle for my Pi running Hass to control those devices.

If anyone has tried or has any info let me know! Thank you.

Have you read @CCOSTAN post how he is utilizing his security system sensors? Check his blog on http://vcloudinfo.com

Are you referring to this post? http://www.vmwareinfo.com/2017/06/building-my-home-alarm-system-hardware.html

It looks like that covered hardwired switches. I realized I should have specified I have all wireless sensors which, without some engineering of the switches I would need to use a 2GIG panel to communicate directly to those.

Yes, that’s right post

Why not buy panel?
I see them $150 on amazon. I believe ebay you may find cheaper.https://www.amazon.com/2gig-2GIG-CP21-345E-Security-Automation-Control/dp/B00BPCISLA/ref=pd_sbs_421_7?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00BPCISLA&pd_rd_r=X5A7Q8ENGBH31FYGYSJ3&pd_rd_w=1OX8p&pd_rd_wg=fEbyU&psc=1&refRID=X5A7Q8ENGBH31FYGYSJ3

Monitoring from alarm company is not requirement if you buy and install yourself…
I am not sure how this may work with HA. It sound like possible to make HA a secondary controller but I have not seen anyone do this succesfully.

At $150 you may look at selling these items and replacing with something that fits long term goal.

There are a few people that have tried SDR integrations. I tried HoneywellSecurityMQTT with some success on my vivint system (without the panel), but nothing that I would want to rely on for security. My solution was replacing the existing sensors with the wyze security sensors and using the wyze HACS integration
