So here’s a big Backup related WTH. If I’m trying to migrate a Home Assistant install to a new device, and my backup was made with a HA version that’s newer than the default installation image, I can’t restore it because the backup was made with a newer version. Why can’t I restore the backup automatically by having HA update itself to the new version and then restore the backup. Or better yet, why doesn’t HA update itself on first startup to the newest core/supervisor level?
For those who appreciated the possibility to still simply create an add-on back-up without the hassle to go to manual back-up screen etc. I figured out that individual add-on back-up before upgrade is still an offered option = the way to proceed is to not upgrade via the general notification of upgrades availability, but upgrade from the “info” menu of the add-on itself.
