£6 unbranded Sigma zwave usb

I’ve got a relatively small house compared to some. Might be why I don’t see problems.

I’ve got one today reporting open, even though it has closed. I have just put in some powerful wireless networking equipment but I have a feeling I just opened and closed the door too quickly. I’ve refreshed the node from HASS so looks like it might have been too swift to affect the reed sensor.

Nice! Can anyone also recommend a chip Roller Shutter?

My dodgy one has come back now it’s woken up after my hass restart. So they are still working well!

Hi

Is this usb still working fine?

Also can you please provide the link for the door sensors?

Finally how is the range of your setup? I am planning on Z-wave hoping to get signals at a height of 10m.

Thanks.

Still working fine. Probably about ten metres or so range and fine so I suspect you will be ok. Not got the link to hand for sensors but should be further up the thread I think.

Yup, mine are still working well. But the one which is at the range of radio reception is eating through batteries (like one set a week; the other two I have are still showing 98/99%) - presumably for that very reason. Must be 12-15m and thick walls.

I’m picking up a £10 z-wave extender from Maplins later this week, so am hoping that will sort out my issues.

One of the few bargains in the home automation world.

Thanks for discussing this here. I have been looking at this Z Wave for £6 in eBay for a while now but was not sure if it will work with HA.

I just ordered this USB stick. Cant find any door sensor for less than £12 on ebay or amazon :frowning: Please help.

P.S. I have bought a Pi and yet to buy everything else .

Any sub-$10 US equivalent? I’d love to ditch my Wink Hub!

I’ve had one get into a bit of a funk now. Showing as always open. It’s right by the back door and it’s been pretty cold I wonder if it just need a physical jolt. Saying that the red light comes on so looks more like a software thing.

Hi,

I just bought one of these. Its working perfectly on my pi and connects to a nearby TKB switch, but a second switch which is further away is showing as dead (it works fine when plugged in nearby the controller USB), so I guess a range issue.

I got it from ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/282638002736

I noticed on my HA Install that it is showing as “is zwave plus” - false . Anyone know if I need to do something specific to get it running in Z-Wave plus mode in a hope to increase the range?

It’s a bug in openzwave. It shows false but works as plus.

Is there someone who wants to buy one or 2 of these usb sticks, and send them to the netherlands?
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Everspring-SA413-Z-Wave-Plus-USB-Adapter-Stick-/282638002736?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10

I contacted the seller on ebay, but he doesn’t want to post it to the netherlands. I’m willing to transfer the money for the stick(s) and the postage in advance. Still cheaper than buying an official one for more than €30,-

Be careful. Z-Wave is regional - if you buy a non-EU stick it will not work with EU Z-Wave devices.

I too have been using this one for quite some time now. no issues at all

I have just bought one of these

I turned off HA, plugged it in, and HA cannot see it

Do I have to install any Software / how do I set this up so HA can use

Any Help really really appreciated

Paul

Make sure you bought a static controller device, and not a bridge. See the top of this page.

Hi there

Thanks for the reply

I made sure I bought one on the recommended devices from the list so I bought this one *

Everspring USB stick - Gen 5

I am still getting an error

This is the error I am getting and I cannot seem to find any information on it anywhere

My Config is showing as good

zwave:
usb_path: /dev/ttyACM0

I have also double checked the location of the device through putty

I have tried both locations but still an error

“data”: {
“serial”: [
“/dev/ttyAMA0”,
“/dev/ttyACM0”

I have tried both of the above in the config but I still get the same errors
