A little confused Bigtimer wanting to add input Lovelace Buttons

You’ve just gone and jumped in without learning the lingo huh?

Anything added to home assistant is an entity.

Switches, sensors, input selects, device tracker devices… everything is an entity. You don’t “add as entity”, you open the node, under ENTITY, you start typing input_select. and it should see your entity. If it doesn’t show up, then restart node red.

OK got it working the server config in node-red dropped off for some reason (that may have most of my problems).

LOL im KIwi and moved over here about 8 years ago (after some earthquakes) still loving it. From what I hear Tassie is the same as home (Christchurch) Its a great place some day will make it down.

I know this thread is super old, but just wanted to say that I used your input to put this together and it worked FLAWLESSLY. Thank you for making it easy and concise - and for providing an example. Too often others will just state what needs to be done, but not provide the actual code - even if it is painfully simple.
