Sometimes, you have integrated entities in your energy dashboard, which you need to replace with some others (for example power-outlets, or similar).
Removing the old entity will cause, that the statistic will be removed from the dashboard, and the new entity will start with fresh readings.
Sure - you can edit the entity names manually to prevent such a behave, but this needs some effort and is in my opinion a potential point of failures.
It would be great to have an helper or a way integrated into HomeAssistant, that would allow you to “switch” from one entity to another one.
For example:
PowerPlug_A is currently used in the energy Dashboard.
Now, I install PowerPlug_B.
In HomeAssistant, there should be an option like:
“switch Statistics from PowerPlug_A to PowerPlug_B”
