Hi,
I am also using an Apple TV … Do you know how to make the App icons (like Netflix, Spotify etc…) also working with Apple TV. For me it’s not possible to start an app via the remote card. But if I go to the media browser I can see all my apps and I can select the app I want.
BTW: Where is the Prime Video Icon?
As it’s written now you’d have to provide your own icons (or copy the ones I provided in the source code) if you create a custom key or source. I can make persistent icons for custom keys/sources a feature request and work on it in for a future release. Some services like Netflix and Spotify’s icons are part of the material design icon set included with Home Assistant, but for others I had to source and modify SVG icons.

While not Android, Vizio provides JSON files which contain links to images of over 150 apps.
I use to use a canned set but now just use these. You can read up here … GitHub - kbrown01/VizioApps: Set of JSON files for modern VIZIO TVs with the APPs for Home Assistant integrations
You could easily hit the link and download the images or even create a sensor as I so that maps app name to the image link.

If its not too much to ask, its it possible to set double tap on the touchpad for back and long press for menu?

This is almost the default behavior when enable_double_click is set to true in the remote card config. Android TV treats center key long presses as menu commands when available for the selected element, and regular center commands when it’s not. And if double_click_keycode is not defined it will default to back. Is it not working for you?

Probably not. Sending keyboard entries to Android TV is done through ADB, and I don’t know if there’s an equivalent way to do so for Apple TV or Kodi. If someone does know a way to do it via the Home Assistant integrations I can look into it but I would need someone with an Apple TV or Kodi setup to test it for me.

Thank you for updating the card. The prime icon looks nice… Unfortunately I don’t understand the custom sources vs. custom buttons. How must source look to use it inside a button?

If I press a button nothing works. For me the only important thing is that I did the declaration right. If this is true, the issue is located inside the Apple TV integration.
OMG. Nevermind. Apple WTF!!
They didnt use the international language for the apps. You need the regional translation. For example : Movies would be the international (English versions) but here where I live I had to write the German ones.
And if you have spaces inside the app names like prime video you have to also write them inside the service data :

Now my issue is resolved. This card works really great with the Apple TV and the haptics are awesome.
Do you have any idea to make a nice background for the remote? I want the remote full-screen on my tablet. Is there also a way to call an automation inside the remote?

I’m not sure what you mean by a nice background. Do you mean changing how it looks? You could use card mod to change the touchpad and card colors:

@Nerwyn … Yeah I tried so many ways until I figured out and this was mainly caused by a typo.
Regarding background: I want a background in your card. Do I have to setup a background inside my dashboard or is it possible to define a background only in your card. Both is fine for me. The second option would be better if you want to highlight your card.

Edit: you can Add my code snippet to GitHub to make clear how to launch an app on an Apple TV. The first step is to pair it through the integrations page (Homeassistant). This works really well and there is almost no delay. And the trackpad is also really fast. So it’s not more only compatible to android only
It would either be in the dashboard or in the card using card-mod.
I added your sources to the Apple TV example, but it won’t show up in the main branch until the next release.

HI, I am trying to use an icon, but it isn’t in the simpleicons directory.
So I was wondering how I can use the local icon or a picture. I have tried to use a svg picture, but it doesn’t work

This card does not support loading SVG icons from file. You have to open the SVG file in a text editor and copy the path field to custom_icons. It also has to be 24x24 pixels to properly render. Further instructions can be found in the README. There are currently no further plans to read SVG icons from file.
I am not clear… do I need to add the line enable_double_click: true in the config ? I cant see it already.
Yes. But double click behavior is inconsistent across devices. As of now it doesn’t seem to work on iPhone. I’m waiting on getting a friends used iPhone so I can better test and come up with a solution that works on all devices.
Edit: After a ton of rewrites and testing across multiple iPhones I’m like 90% sure that double click just doesn’t work on iOS.

You are right. I added the enable_double_click: true line and I can get it to do back. This is awesome. Long press menu still doesnt work. Not sure what to do. I am using this on kodi btw.
